OVERVIEW

You will ride just around 350 km in 8 days on smooth asphalt/tarmac roads. Our tour starts on the Gulf of Thailand, at a pristine Khanom beach that is off the tourist track. We then head inland for boat trip on a stunning lake and ride on the edge of  Khao Sok National Park – home to the last of Thailand’s great rainforests and the oldest jungle on our planet – before we ride through fantastic areas along the spectacular limestone cliffs to the beaches and islands on the Andaman Sea – Phuket and Krabi. We will visit the most beautiful penisiula of Thailand – Railay.

  ITINERARY

DAY1   Surat Thani – Khanom   15km cycling

We start this tour by meeting in Suratthani Airport (you can fly to Suratthani from Bangkok – we can arrange these internal flights). Van transfer to a beach resort in Khanom. After relax, we prepare for an easy ride along the beach. This ride will be a perfect introduction to your trike and give you a chance to warm up your cycling legs. We top off our day with a seafood dinner . The town is well known for having some the finest seafood in Thailand.

DAY2   Along the Gulf of Thailand   40km cycling

We do a loop ride along the coast, past some stunning beaches, through a fishing villages. Very easy day, for adaptation to climate and time difference. Our route sticks to the coast, giving us views of the sea, mangrove forests and palm plantations. We’ll be riding through an area that is missed by most tourists, so don’t be surprised at the reactions you get from the locals at seeing a foreigner on a trike. Afternoon – spend it relaxing at the beach, wandering around the area or taking a dip in pools at the resort.

DAY3   Khanom – Cheow Lan Lake   50km cycling

We depart from Khanom and transfer down to Thamma Park, a very scenic area. We cycle towards the pier, where we meet our boat for a trip/ride beneath towering karst cliffs on Cheow Lan Lake. Our lunch will be in floating restaurant You can swim in crystal water. After the lake trip we transfer to our accommodation 2 tree house on border of Khao Sok National Park.

DAY4   Khao Sok – Takuapa   60km cycling

Wake up to the sounds of birds chirping at the resort surrounded by jungle. We cycle amid karst mountains towards Andaman Sea. We have a leisurely cycle through the town of Takuapa and then ride on to visit the beachside Tsunami Memorial at Ban Nam Khem and the big fishing boat that was carried an amazing 2 km inland by the surging waters. Afternoon you can enjoy the beach as well as the pool and spa at our resort, built in typical Thai architecture style.

DAY5   Ko Kao Island   40 km cycling

We ride to the pier , transfer our trikes by ferry to the island of Ko Kao. We spend a cycling/leisure day on the island. Late afternoon we go back by ferry to our hotel in Takuapa.

DAY6   Takuapa – Phuket   50km cycling

We cycle countryside roads towards Phuket, famous for numerous islands, karst formations and caves. On the way we will stop at Sametnangshe Viewpoint with fantastic panoramas of Phang-nga Bay.

DAY7   Phuket – Ao Nang   30km cycling

Morning via boat to Aonang. Then back to trikes and ride aroun Ao-nang,  past palm and rubber plantations/shrimp farms, with limestone karst as our background . It’s an easy riding day, so you have time to enjoy visit to Railay penisula after lunch. Today we have a farewell seafood dinner.

DAY8   Departure Krabi

Today is yours to relax and rest after seven days of great riding. We can help with arrangements if you’d like to extend your stay in Krabi or organise transfers to the airport for onward flights.
